Radio in North Dorset
Vale FM broadcasts on 97.4 FM from
Shaftesbury and 96.6 from South West Wilts. There is a 'Listen Live' option on
the site but we haven't managed to get it working. It isn't as straightforward
as listening to BBC radio online, but the nearest BBC local stations, Solent and
Bristol are not really local local.
According to Ofcom, Vale FM provides coverage of an area with an adult (aged
15+) population of around 35,000.
Farm Radio is Trilith's internet
radio station for farmers and others interested in farming covering the "Chalk
and Cheese" area of Dorset and part of Somerset and is well worth exploring.
They aim to generate 60-90 minutes of new programming each month, and cover
farming-related issues from a pretty broad perspective.
