27th, 28th October 2006 10am-3.30pm
Kingston Maurward College
A free half day seminar organised by Cranborne Chase &
West Wilts Downs AONB and Dorset AONB
This is a free event for those people who might be
interested in converting from oil and gas fired heating and hot water
systems to wood fuelled systems. We are putting this on in response to the
over 200 people who have expressed an interest in this subject when they
responded to a leaflet we put out last year and numerous requests from
various land managers over the last 14 months. At this event you will be
able to get free, unbiased advice from experts in the field, see wood fuel
in action and be guided on to other contacts for funding and further
advice if necessary.
At the event you will hear presentations by, and be able to ask questions
of Mark Weatherlake of South West Wood Fuels on the subject of
installation and capacity Alistair McMahon of Centre for Sustainable
Energy on grant availability and costs and a representative of Wood Energy
Ltd on wood fuel quality requirements
There will also be demonstrations by: Dunster Woodfuels of the Moderator
and Vigas range of wood fuelled boilers (some will be working) Fuelwood
Ltd of a range of log splitters Knighton Countryside Management of a
forwarder, chipper and FastTrak Bioheat of woodchip/grain boilers
The event starts at 10.00 am for 10.30 when the speakers will begin, there
will be a reasonably priced lunch of local produce between 12.00 and 2.00
and a chance to view the demos and speak to the demonstrators. Then there
will be a chance for more detailed questions and answers after lunch and
the day will end at about 3.30 pm.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact John Bell (jmaitlandbell@yahoo.co.uk)
as I will be on leave until 9th October. If you know that you will be
attending, could you give me a quick email back to say so, it will help
hugely with the organisation of the day.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in this event as a consumer,
installer of heating systems, supplier of fuel or boilers or in any other
way, please pass this email on to them.
